• For initial start up pump & suction line to be filled with liquid (water).
• Once primed, the pumps are able to lift liquid from a lower level, provided liquid is retained in the pump and suction line.

Before Starting the Pump clean the suction line and impeller housing area by opening the suction cover any foreign materials such as weld slugs, should be removed

Check for free impeller rotation manually/pump turn freely under hand pressure.

After ensuring the impeller housing area, mechanical seal area are free from foreign material

Confirm free access of water/liquid in the suction side of the pump. Valve on discharge line is closed during start up and it should be opened subsequently as soon as pump started.

For pumps with double mech. Seal & flushed shaft seal, check the cooling water/liquid supply & flow is adequate.

Never run the pump dry/without liquid.

Check the pump for proper rotation as indicated on the pump. When checking direction of rotation, the pump should be filled with the liquid, and take note of abnormal/special sound.
